"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up... Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken." Ecc. 4:9–12

Q + A

Where is the wedding taking place?

We’re getting married on Thompson Island... yes, Thompson!—in Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine. We thought it was only fitting. Surrounded by sea, sky, and the people we love most, it’s the perfect place to say yes to forever.

How do we get there?

By car: It's about 6 hours from CT, but it depends on where you are coming from! By air: The closest airport is Bar Harbor Airport (BHB)—only 20 minutes away, but limited flights. Bangor International (BGR) is about 1.5 hours out and has more options. Portland (PWM) is 3.5 hours if you're up for a scenic drive.

Where should we stay?

Bar Harbor is filled with the cutest Airbnbs, boutique hotels, and comfy motels—and downtown Bar Harbor is amazing (trust us, you’ll love the ice cream and lobster rolls). It’s the closest town to Acadia and the heart of the action, but it fills up fast! If Bar Harbor books up or you're looking for something a little more low-key, we also recommend checking out Ellsworth, Trenton, Hancock, and Lamoine. All are within a 30–45 minute drive to the park and offer great options ranging from cozy cabins to campgrounds and vacation rentals. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a lakeside cottage, or a tent under the stars, there’s something for everyone.

What kind of wedding is this?

Not a fancy or formal one! Think of it as an intimate elopement with all the joy and none of the pressure. Dress nicely, but stay comfy, especially in the Maine summer heat (predicted weather to be in the 80's). Wear anything that lets you eat a ton of lobster at a roadside lobster shack (complete with fire pits and corn hole) and dance under the Maine sky.

Can we bring plus ones, our kids, etc.?

Yes! The more the merrier - EVERYONE is welcome. We love your littles! And April will be over the moon to have friends. Everyone and anyone is welcome!

Will you be upset if we can’t make it?

Not at all. We know Acadia isn’t around the corner for most of you. Your love, prayers, and support mean the world—whether you’re with us on the island or sending hugs from afar.

Are there other events happening that weekend?

Yes! We're planning a few laid-back gatherings—maybe a group hike, local seafood hang, and a welcome evening before the big day. Details coming soon on the Things To Do page!
